Prayer of Saint John Chrysostom

☩ Evening Prayers (version 1) ☩

O Lord my God, even if I have done nothing good in Thy sight, yet grant me by Thy grace to make a beginning of good.
I have sinned more than I can number; forgive me, cleanse me, and purify me.
Open unto me the doors of repentance, O Giver of Life, for my soul rises early to pray to Thy holy name.
Enlighten my mind and heart, O Lover of mankind.
Deliver me from the night of sin and from the passions that war against me.
Strengthen me to do Thy will with love, and preserve me in peace.
Amen.
