Prayer of Saint Basil the Great

☩ Morning Prayers (version 1) ☩

O Lord Almighty, God of the powers and of all flesh,
Who dwellest on high and lookest upon the lowly,
Who searchest the hearts and reins, and clearly foreknowest the secrets of men:
O unoriginate and ever-existing Light, with Whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning:
Do Thou, O King Immortal, receive our prayers, which we, trusting in the multitude of Thy bounties, offer unto Thee at the present hour from defiled lips.
Forgive us every transgression, whether voluntary or involuntary, whether of word or of deed or of thought, committed by us in the night or in the day, whether in knowledge or in ignorance.
Cleanse us from all defilement of flesh and spirit. And grant us to pass through all the days of our life in peace and without sin, with hope in the resurrection and life everlasting.
For blessed art Thou, O Lord our God, and to Thee do we ascribe glory, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.
Amen.
